COASTAL LAKES MEDICAL PRACTICE WILL BE TRANSITIONING TO MIXED BILLING AS OF

 As you are undoubtedly aware the medical industry has experienced significant challenges over the past few years, including but not limited to GP shortages, increased costs, access, etc.

The cost of providing quality health care services has increased significantly throughout this time whilst the Medicare rebate amounts remained frozen. As a practice we believe that everyone deserves access to quality health care and we have tried to absorb these costs for as long as possible. Unfortunately this is no longer viable and we are faced with the same decision as many other practices have been facing. To continue to be able to provide our local community with quality health care services we have had to make the difficult decision to transition back to a mixed billing practice.

Certain services and patients will remain bulk billed including:

• Pension & Health Care Card Holders
• Patients 16 years and younger
• DVA Card Holder
• Recall appointments to discuss results only arranged by their Doctor
• Nurse Appointments
•  Workers Compensation Claims Once approved

For those not in these groups above, the fee list is as follows and will apply to face to face and telephone consultations.

 Please Note all services are to be paid in full on the day of your consultation. You will be required to pay for the whole consultation fee, your rebate will then be processed to Medicare and will return to yout Medicare nominated bank account within 24-48 hours. Reception will provide you with a copy of Medicare claim form once payment has been processed.

with rebate of $18.20 out of pocket $31.80

Level B Consultation $75.00

with rebate of $39.75 out of pocket $35.25

Level C Consultation $120.00
with rebate of $76.95 out of pocket $43.05

Level D Consultation $165.00
with rebate of $113.30out of pocket $51.70

Telehealth Consultation $75.00

with rebate $39.75 out of pocket $35.25

• All procedures and excisions now incur an out of pocket cost depending on the complexity of the procedure.
• A non-attendance fee of $25.00 is payable to the practice if two appointments are made and failed to be attended.

If you are experiencing financial hardship we ask that you discuss this with your doctor directly as reception is unable to amend or change any of the billings.
